United Utilities Water PLC sells £70m of 30-year index linked notes

On 16 July 2009, United Utilities Water PLC (A3, stable; A-, stable) agreed to sell GBP 70m of thirty-year index-linked notes to Barclays Bank PLC via the group's E7bn Euro medium term note programme, further enhancing the group's robust financing position.

The notes carry a coupon of 2.400% on the inflation adjusted principal, and were priced at a credit spread to investors of 155bps above the yield on the UKTI 1.125% 2037 government bonds. 

This is the group's first index-linked note issue since November 2007.
