Some parts of UU operate in a regulated market. Regulatory bodies such as the European Commission, the Environment Agency and the Drinking Water Inspectorate place demands on us every year to increase environmental performance and operational efficiency.
Every 5 years, United Utilities, together with all of the other water companies in England and Wales, submit a business plan to Ofwat, the water regulator, outlining the investment we want to make to our network of pipes, sewers, water and wastewater treatment works and reservoirs.
We are already putting plans in place to develop an appropriate procurement strategy to deliver our AMP6 Capital Programme commitments.
