The following information is applicable to: (i) places of worship; and (ii) scout and guide organisations.
Following the publication of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, we are delighted to tell you that a concessionary scheme has been introduced for community groups who experienced large increases in their bills due to the introduction of site area charging.
The good news is that places of worship and scout and guide groups have been identified as eligible for our concessionary scheme.
This means that, from April 2011, your annual charge for surface water drainage and highway drainage will be capped at band 1, our lowest site area charge, instead of being calculated upon the actual measurement of your drained area. For 2011-2012 the annual charge for surface water drainage and highway drainage services based upon band 1 will be £100.30.
This is the next step in ensuring that all our customers pay a reasonable amount for the services received from us.
You don't need to do anything to ensure you are part of our concessionary scheme. We've already amended our billing system and this charge will be shown on your bill for 2011-2012.
